vt.

1. 忘记[+to-v][+v-ing][+(that)][+wh-]

I forgot posting the letter.

我忘了信已寄出。

Don't forget to post the letter.

别忘了去寄信。

Sorry, I've forgotten your name.

对不起,我忘了你的名字。

2. 忘记带(或买等)

I forgot my keys.

我忘了带钥匙了。

3. 不再把...放在心上

Let's forget our disagreements.

我们不要再提我们之间的争吵了。

4. 忽略忽视怠慢

Don't forget the waiter.

不要忘了给侍者小费。

5. 不再考虑放弃

If we can't get any financial backing, we might as well forget the whole thing.

如果得不到经济上的支持,我们还是放弃整个计划好。

1. 忘记[(+about)]

I forgot about the food cooking on the stove.

我忘记炉子上做的饭了。

1.forget doing 忘记做过某事

i forget paying for the cup我忘了付过杯子的钱了（已经付过了）

2.forget to do 忘记去做

i forget to pay for the cup 我忘了付杯子的钱了（没付）

forget + 不定词 忘记做某件事 (事情还未做)

例：He said he forgot to bring his homework back to school

(他说他忘记带作业回学校)

── 忘记「带作业」回学校，也就是说「他 (到现在) 还在忘记带作业回学校」。

forget + 现在分词 忘记做过某件事 (已经做过)

例：He said he forgot bringing his homework back to school

(他说他忘记带作业回学校)

── 作业 (事实上)「已带回学校」，只是自己却忘记自己有带作业罢了。
